Understanding FSH and Menopause

FSH, or follicle-stimulating hormone, plays a pivotal role in regulating the menstrual cycle and follicle development in women. During menopause, FSH levels typically surge as estrogen levels decline. This surge, often tenfold higher than normal levels, signals the transition to menopause. The iCare FSH Menopause Test detects these elevated FSH levels in urine, aiding in the diagnosis of menopause.

How the FSH Test Works?

When the absorbent pad of the test is immersed in a urine specimen, capillary action carries the specimen along the membrane. If FSH levels meet or exceed the target cutoff, a visible colored band appears in the test region, equal to or darker than the control band. Absence of this colored band or a weaker appearance compared to the control band indicates a negative result.

Ensuring Accurate Testing of FSH:

  • The test has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of production when stored between 2°C and 30°C in a sealed pouch under dry conditions.
  • Clear instructions and quality control measures ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • A colored line at the Control Zone confirms proper test performance.

The iCare FSH Menopause Test empowers women and healthcare professionals with valuable information about hormonal changes associated with menopause. Its accuracy, ease of use, and rapid results make it an indispensable tool in diagnosing menopausal transition, facilitating informed decision-making and personalized healthcare.
